• Root canals – Typically, root canals are the best option for treating infected teeth. In this procedure, Dr. Chou will open up your tooth, clean out all of the infected material, and then fill it up with an inert material. As a restoration-focused dentist, he can also permanently fill your tooth, place posts, and take other steps to prepare you for your dental crown, which you’ll get from your general dentist after your visit to Elite Endodontics of SD.

• Endodontic surgery – We also offer more complex endodontic surgeries like apicoectomies, which may be necessary if a root canal has failed or a traditional root canal is not an option. We use the latest technology including 3D CBCT imaging to develop comprehensive treatment plans and ensure the best possible outcome, no matter what type of surgery you may need.

• Retreatment – In some cases, root canal therapy may not fully eliminate the infected material in your tooth. This can happen for many reasons including complications with the anatomy of your root canals, improper restoration placement, or additional decay affecting your tooth. If this is the case, Dr. Chou may need to perform root canal retreatment to remove the original filing material and clean out the inside of your tooth once again.
